Hello, I’m Darrell Proctor, the founder of LoveIsBroken. I’m a speaker, author, and advocate who works with churches and individuals to support those who feel broken by traumatic events or post-traumatic stress disorder.

According to psychologist Diane Langberg (Author of Suffering and the Heart of God: How Trauma Destroys and Christ Restores), “Trauma is the mission field of our time.”

This statement deeply resonates with me.

I firmly believe that addressing trauma represents our most significant opportunity to connect with a post-Christian culture.

As a licensed and ordained Stephens Minister with extensive experience in care ministries, I had ministered for years to individuals amid traumatic events.

But in 2017, it was me who needed help. I was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder. I went looking for support and healing.

I sought counseling, joined support groups, and actively pursued reliable sources of information that blended biblical insights with medical and psychological wisdom.

Amidst this process, I encountered several missteps and errors that I’m eager to help others avoid.

Through my own experiences, I became acutely aware of the significant number of individuals within the Church and the broader population who grapple with unresolved trauma.

I recognized the lack of open conversation and support within faith communities and felt a deep calling to drive change. It was from this sense of purpose that LoveIsBroken was born—a ministry rooted in my profound belief in the healing power of the gospel and the pressing need to address trauma within the context of faith.

Now, I work with church leaders to elevate awareness about the countless individuals within and outside the Church who grapple with a sense of brokenness stemming from their responses to traumatic events.
